Create a New SMS Template

2. Create SMS Template:

Select the “SMS” module by navigating to the "SMS Channel" option. Clicking on the "SMS" module will take you to the SMS Channel home page, where you can manage and create SMS Nudges.

Step 1: Click on the “Create Template” to create SMS templates.

2.1 Create Template

Step 2: Create an SMS template with the “Template Name”, “Project Name, and “SMS Message” in the input field.

Note 1: Each SMS provided in the SMS message input fields will be split into segments based on the length of the SMS message. The actual message of an SMS message is 160 characters, and if it exceeds more than 160 characters, then it is considered one segment, and later the next 153 characters are considered as another segment.

Note 2: The first 70 characters for the SMS message with the Unicode Character Set (UCS-2) are considered as one segment, and later the next 67 characters are considered as another segment.

Note 3: Based on the value of the merge tags, the number of characters in the actual message will vary.

2.2 Create Template Page

Step 2.1: Click on the “ADD” button by selecting the listed merge tags from the drop-down menu to add standard merge tags to the SMS message.

Step 2.2: Click on the “Add Attachment” to add a link to the attachment in the SMS message from the local storage.

Step 2.3: Click on the “Generate Short URL” to generate the short URL for the long URL, and that short URL can be utilized in the SMS message.

  • Enter the long URL in the input field and click on the “Generate Button”.
  • The long URL is converted into the short URL and click on the “Copy” icon in the generated short URL to copy and paste the short URL in the SMS templates.
  • Click on the “Done” button to close the page.

2.3 Generate Short URL

Save & Activate the SMS Template:

In the application, the user has the following items to act on the templates as shown in the image below:

Step 3: Save & Activate: Clicking on the "Save & Activate" button, the SMS template is saved and activated by the system, and the user will be redirected to the template gallery. The SMS template will be displayed under the "Your Design" category in the active status.

Step 3.1: Save As Draft:  Clicking on the “Save As Draft”, the system saves the template in draft status, which will also take the user to the template gallery where it will be visible under the "Your Design" category in the draft status.
