Why merge tags are important in real-time nudges?

The merge tags help the user to get the dynamic data values from the data file user provides during the creating nudge. The user can use the merge tags from the list or can create new merge tags using the % symbol before and after the name of the column name they want to get value from. i.e %Customer_ID%
